What is sustainable farming? In addition to using regenerative farming practices at our Forcett farms, in the last 4 years, we have also diverted over 4 million kgs of food waste from landfill to feed our animals. This includes spent grain mash, pot ale, liquid whey, grape mark, bakery goods, dairy products, and unused fresh produce. As we develop symbiotic partnerships with food and beverage producers in the Hobart region, we expect this to drastically increase.
We use regenerative farming practices on our land in Forcett, which are natural and healing to the land, and focus on creating optimal soil health and biodiversity both above and below the ground. That means no chemicals or poison and no artificial growth enhancers. Just utilising nature as God intended.
Our cows love their fruit and vegetables and are pretty happy they are keeping this food waste out of landfill.
