Our farm tours offer a fun, hands-on experience that connects visitors with where their food truly comes from.
Guests can walk through paddocks, feed animals, collect eggs, and interact with cows, pigs, chickens, and other farm animals while learning about regenerative agriculture and how farming can help reduce food waste. Designed to be engaging and educational for all ages, the tours combine real farm activities with practical lessons about sustainable food production, making it an unforgettable experience for children and adults alike. Options include tour only, tour with morning or afternoon tea, and tour with lunch.
We also have group and school options available. For more information on our group tours, download the PDF at the bottom of this page.
At Heritage Farms Tasmania, we offer hands-on workshops that teach practical skills for raising and processing your own meat at home. Participants learn the fundamentals of humane slaughter, carcass preparation, and how to break down animals such as chickens, pork, or lamb into usable cuts. The courses focus on building confidence, understanding the “paddock-to-plate” journey, and helping people become more self-sufficient by gaining the knowledge needed to ethically and efficiently process their own food.
These small-group, practical sessions provide step-by-step instruction in traditional butchery techniques while also highlighting the importance of respecting the animal and reducing waste by utilising as much of the carcass as possible. Courses are held over two weekends each year. Join us for one part, or all three. Click the link below to sign up for our next course.
